Just experienced Labor Day demonstrations here in Zurich. From my apartment on Langstrasse I took these photos:

To begin with everyone seemed pretty relaxed..

Then things got a little crazy, there was lots of tear gas and rubber bullets.

And the riot police appeared in full force…

But notice in the background the cafe continues trading, its business as usual.

My favourite memory of the day was seeing this disabled person demonstrating, he was fully prepared even wearing knee pads.
